Join the Build Local Alliance & Sustainable Northwest Wood in recognizing & honoring more than a dozen of the small businesses, mills, and land stewards who are supplying locally grown and made wood products throughout Portland International Airport. Beyond the iconic timber roof, we will celebrate some of the lesser-known contributors that are working to bring this historic project to life, from flooring to trim to wall treatments.
Inspired by a walk in our Pacific Northwest forests, the new main terminal will be filled with local, sustainable wood that is traceable to the forests of origin. This feat of ingenuity is being brought to fruition by many brilliant minds, hands and hearts, in a true Northwest spirit of collaboration and community.
Renovations are well under way, and we can’t wait to share some behind the scenes and stories from the people making it possible. The new space will open to the public in 2024.
