Yale Forest Forum: Smallholder planted forests and trees for climate, restored landscapes, and human livelihoods

Please join us for the Yale Forest Forum Spring 2023 Speaker Series Webinar entitled “Smallholder planted forests and trees for climate, restored landscapes, and human livelihoods” held on Tuesdays 12:00-13:00 ET from January 17-April 25th (Webinars not held March 14 and March 21). The YFF Speaker Series is hosted by The Forest School at the Yale School of the Environment in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. This webinar series will focus on ways to harness the potential of smallholder planted forests and trees to contribute to the provision of environmental services, including addressing climate change, and livelihoods. In featuring guest lectures from a range of perspectives, disciplines, and geographies the webinar series will explore topics including the key success factors in the establishment and management of planted forests and trees outside forests by smallholders; the most promising models and practices; the management objectives pursued by smallholders; operational risks, financial risks, and vulnerabilities smallholders face; opportunities and business models linked to the transition to carbon-neutral economies and ecosystem restoration; and what can be done by other actors to support smallholders.
