Our November meeting will feature Christine Buhl, PhD, an entomologist with the Oregon Department of Forestry. She is directly involved with the statewide aerial monitoring, detection, and mapping of insect pest damage program. She provides trainings statewide on forest insects. She can also provide an update on emerald ash borer presence in Oregon and other insects of impact to timber.
Dr. Buhl is a graduate of Oregon State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has served as an entomologist from Hawaii to the country of Lebanon on projects spanning from public health to chemical ecology. She is also involved with the Oregon Bee Project.
As always, students are encouraged to attend, and breakfast is free for students. Please arrive prior to 7:00 a.m.; Tommy’s has shifted their hours, and they now open at 7:00 AM. Speaker should begin speaking around 7:10 a.m. – 7:15 a.m.
