The AKSAF Foundation was established to provide scholarships for students studying forestry or natural resources at a university or college in the state of Alaska.
- The Mike Hoyt Society of American Foresters Scholarship provides scholarships for undergraduate students of at least junior class standing or graduate students pursuing a forestry option within the natural resources management major.
- The Walt Begalka Memorial Scholarship provides scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a forestry option within the natural resources management major at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
- The Society of American Foresters (SAF)/Richard W. and Margery Tindall Scholarship provides scholarships to undergraduate or graduate students pursuing a forestry option within the natural resources management major at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
