For the Blue Mountain SAF Chapter’s December meeting, John Rizza, NE OR Regional Fire Specialist – OSU Ext., will present on a project that he and other colleagues have been working on in Grant County. This project includes an assessment of 45,000 acres of private lands using an approach that will yield rapid results and provide crucial information for strategic and coordinated future treatments. Following the assessment and processing, landowners will be supplied the map, report, and treatment recommendations based on their forest conditions. This is an exciting project, and it will be great to hear an update from John. We will also be conducting out Chapter Elections for 2023.
