Winter is the time for burning hand piles created from past fuels reduction work. This workshop will provide an understanding of safety and weather considerations, and hands-on training. Participants will learn about options for turning their piles into biochar and basics of fire ecology, including how to use native plant seeds to create pollinator habitat after the piles are burned. Whether you have been burning piles for years or are just getting started, this class has something for everyone!
This workshop will take place in Takilma, OR weather permitting. The workshop is being offered on November 4, 2023, and again on November 19, 2023, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
