Project Learning Tree (PLT) uses trees and forests as windows on the world to increase students’ understanding
of the environment and actions they can take to conserve it. Pacific Education Institute (PEI) wants to support
nonformal educators, resources professionals, and small woodland owners in their education and outreach
efforts with a PLT training, catered to their unique needs!

Introduction to PLT ($20*): This 2-hour online training will cover the basic tenants of PLT, an outline of the
materials and extensions, and strategies for connecting PLT materials with students. Participants will receive
a digital copy of PLT’s K-8 “Explore Your Environment” guide (code to be emailed prior to the workshop).
After attending the introduction, if you are interested in the workshop facilitator training, you may register at
that time. You do not need to register for both options now. It is highly recommended you attend the
Introduction first (or have attended a PLT workshop in the past).

Workshop Facilitator Training (Optional-FREE*): This 3-hour online training will focus on workshop design, best
practices, and delivery. PEI FieldSTEM Coordinators will mentor those wanting to offer in-person workshops,
and support development and marketing for their first few workshops!
