Siskiyou SAF Chapter Hybrid Meeting – The Elliott State Research Forest: Vision and Planning

The Elliott State Research Forest is being established as an innovative public research forest in the Oregon Coast Range, supporting scientific collaboration to address critical questions about sustainable forest management, conservation, and local economies. This talk by Shannon Murray, Elliott State Research Forest Program Director with Oregon State University, will provide an overview of the vision for the forest and updates on the planning process.

Bio: Shannon Murray is the Program Director for the Elliott State Research Forest with Oregon State University, where she is part of the core team developing the forest management plan. Before moving to Oregon, Shannon worked as the forest manager for the Yale School Forests system, a licensed consulting forester, a research assistant for the Yale Urbanization and Global Change lab, and an environmental educator. Shannon received a Master of Environmental Management degree from Yale School of the Environment, and a dual degree in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology and English from the University of Connecticut.
