There’s An App(lication) For That Webinar Series – LANDIS-II Density Succession: Management-Driven Model Design and Application

April 4 @ 7:00 am - 8:00 am PDT

The Northern Research Station has developed a suite of decision-support tools over the years that support research and land management. From land cover change to invasive species presence, these tools can facilitate land management decisions by understanding the current state of forests and suggesting future scenarios.

This webinar series will introduce six decision-support tools developed or modified by researchers at the Northern Research Station and showcase examples in which they can be used in research and land management.

Description: LANDIS-II Density Succession is one of the extensions of LANDIS-II that is useful in forest simulation modeling. Jacob Fraser will cover the details of the current model design and explain how it has changed over time in response to implementations that support forest management planning. Steve Shifley will cover a broader overview of the use of landscape models in forest planning, and the opportunities and challenges associated with those activities.

Webinars will take place in March and April 2024.

Each webinar has been approved for 1 CFE credit through the Society of American Foresters and The Wildlife Society.
