Using an Understanding of Stream and Riparian Geomorphic Sensitivity and Ecological Resilience to Guide Management

April 25, 2023 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am PDT

Join us for the two-part Science for Managers webinar series cohosted by:
  • Dr. Jerry Miller, Blanton J. Whitmire Professor of Environmental Science at Western Carolina University
  • Dr. Mark Lord, Professor of Geology at Western Carolina University
  • Dr. Jeanne Chambers, emeritus senior scientist with USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station RMRS emeritus senior scientist Jeanne Chambers.
Part one will provide a framework for assessing and characterizing the geomorphic sensitivity and ecological resilience of upland watersheds based on their predominant processes and the controls on these processes.
Part two will provide a framework for understanding and characterizing the ecological value and hydrologic support for meadows and for identifying key threats.
Day and time: April 25 and 27, 2023 | 10:00 – 11:00 MT
